What frontiers of sourcing remain to be explored? How will advances in technology like machine learning and artificial intelligence affect sourcing? What does the future of talent sourcing hold? Where to from here?

At #SOSUAU we will set our gaze on the whole talent sourcing ecosystem with a particular focus on the issues and challenges faced by sourcing leaders and practitioners in Australasia. We will set our eyes on emerging trends, current best-practices and the road ahead for sourcing.  We will look at new tools and technologies, techniques and best-practices, and will decipher the ever changing behavior of talent. Delegates will develop a big-picture view of talent acquisition and the tactical nous required to be an agent of change.

Once again we will cover all aspects of sourcing in a way that #sosuau is well known for – an uncompromising dissection and analysis of all things sourcing in Australia.

EMAIL REDUX – REINVENTING EMAIL’S ROLE AS #1 TOOL FOR SOURCING TALENT

Email is not dead! The humble Email still gives the best return on investment of any digital channel – paid or otherwise.  It can be used in so many different ways but for the average sourcer it can be time consuming and laborious to gather and manage a high volume of emails. In this session we will look at how to reinvent email’s  application in a myriad ways to find people.

Billy will give an overview of the scraper market (RIP Kimono Labs) and introduce tools like Blockspring, IFTTT & Zapier to maximise the use of emails. He will offer a case study where he will prove that there is no such thing as a wasted email (remarketing) and will have a detailed look at Paid Social, Inbound Campaigns, Bulk Validation tools to avoid emails related issues. In short, you will never see email the same way again, and possibly fall in love again.

For over  15 Laura has been at the forefront of talent sourcing.  As part of her role as training director at AIRS she is constantly researching emerging and new channels and mediums to find talent. In this session she will revisit the emerging world of new sources for talent.

Every sourcing practitioner knows that sourcing is seldom smooth, in fact for every success story there are endless sourcing failures. However, sourcing failures or disasters hardly get discussed as much as the success stories. In this session tackle failures to succeed.

Examples of unpleasant experiences with sourcing are rife – not able to find talent, when to call a sourcing project quits, how to break bad news to stakeholders etc. In this session battled hardened sourcing practitioner Jay will explore the failures sourcers encounter on a daily basis and will address what hinders sourcing projects from succeeding.
